Documentum: made for documentation files, costs a
bundle. Do you have a significant number of writers to
make this purchase worth while?

VSS: great for code, bad for any binary format -
stores a copy of the entire binary, not a diff.
Basically, feeding binaries to VSS is like feeding
Alka-Seltzer to a seagull. Boom. On the plus, your
company may already have it and have a licence that
can be made available to you.

> * Has anyone moved from one product to another?

No. I looked into Documentum several times, but the
cot per writer ratio was too high.

> * Has anyone persuaded management to switch tools?

Yes. We switched from VSS to common sense and solid
procedure. ;)

Huh?

Why not just post the results? It's on-topic, after all.
