I know I'm coming in late on this, but I rarely check my techwr-l digest on weekends.

I just wanted to mention a good book I just read about how businesses work (or are "supposed" to work) called "What the CEO Wants You to Know." It's an easy read and explains some very basic business ideas that apply to any business. It provides the business perspective talked about in this thread.
