For years I've heard and used a spoken abbreviation for "documenting" when
talking with managers and other tech writers. That abbreviation *sounds*
like "docking" - as in "when I get done docking this app, I've got a ton
of release notes to do."

Is there a correct way to *write* this word? Obviously "docking" is both
incorrect and deceptive. But "docing" looks weird, and "doc'ing" looks
like the name of an obscure underground Haiku poet. "Doc-ing" comes close,
but still looks bad, at least to me.

Suggestions?
