Under most circumstances, a glossary should not include common words found in a dictionary; so from that point of view your question is moot. I have seen glossaries that, for example, credit some IEEE or ACM publication as a source for industry terminology and then collate in the idiosyncratic items that pertain only to the company or product or particular subdiscipline that is the subject of the publication.
