As a pretty experienced searcher, when I do a broad search I am generally
suspicious of hits that unnaturally float to the top. They ususally reek of
marketing. I always assume they have either paid or used some clever
technique to get there, which completely defeats my purpose of searching
based on content. Now that you mention it, I always skim down past the top
few hits on such a search.
