It's kinda like technical writing...don't assume that everyone is going
to know your exact intent and don't assume that everyone is going to
know exactly what you need from them.

Nicely worded, John. I think the original posting could've been
interpreted either way, and John's suggestion would emphasize that you
are looking to hire.

You could post a follow-up message with the title "Further To: Looking
for..." and just say, "If you are interested in applying for this
position, please submit cover letter....."
