Hi all!

I completely agree that standards should be available for free, but for example certification for a standard should be paid (e.g. upnp.org). In particular, I'm focusing on IEEE - they have other sources for gaining such as membership fees, etc. Most organization distribute the standards they produce for free with some legal disclaimers granting relatively free usage and distribution.

Besides, the standard we have exchanged in this thread is a draft - we use drafts mostly to learn what standards will look like. As far as I know a draft can hardly serve as an official reference point in a company of true professionals.

Another reason for me to request this draft was that I got really curious to look at a "standard" for user documentation.

Best regards,
Iliana Kostova.
