You are on the right track. This is about protecting the client from 1).
Claims from you if you injure yourself on their property and 2). You causing
a problem that costs the client "damages" money in case of loss due to any
accident.

Michele also brings up a new wrinkle, the "recruitment" firm requiring proof
of this insurance. This is a way for them to prove that you are 1099, not
W2.
