In a nutshell, I use Google to find local recruiters... However in this employers' market, many of the contracts for tech writers are posted directly by the hiring mangers through DICE, Craigslist, and the STC. Things are recently improving a bit in our Silicon Valley economy. So, I say jump in. The chances of finding contract assignments are improving but it's still nothing like the heydays of a few years ago.

How do folks on this list rate Silicon Valley's tech pubs contract/FTE recruiter Dorothy Webster and her outfit, Techwriters.com?

Please be frank and concise. No second hand reports, please.

Can anyone tell me how the contracting market is going these days in the
San Francisco Bay Area/Silicon Valley? I am interested in returning to
contracting after three years in a full-time job. Also, I ask again if
anyone can refer me to some good Bay Area recruiters who specialize in
contracting work for technical writers. Thanks.
