Jaded? I suppose so, although "experienced" might be a better word. However, one thing you might not be considering is that making unrealistic requests can weaken your position in the company. If your demands require more money or effort than your company is willing to undertake, then you're going to be taken less seriously. Before you submit any plans, you should probably nose around and see what realistic limits exist. Once you know that, then you can plan realistically - and, if you plan realistically, you will then be more valued in the company.
