You don't know what's in their head and I wouldn't go out of my way
to try and figure it out. Maybe the person is insecure in their job
and sees you as a threat. Maybe they wanted a friend to fill the
position. Maybe they don't like your haircut because you resemble
someone who picked on them in school.
Do your job, do it well, and all you need to care about is when your
manager stops saying hello when you pass them in the hallway.
