Not specifically mentioned by Bruce is the Digital
Audio Tape, DAT. While still using a tape, the
recording is digital with longer tape time.

If there is any chance that some of the interview
would be worth editing into a radio piece, DAT is
mostly what is being used now, below the fancy solid
state devices.

CB - who bought an expensive conventional tape recorder
for interviewing just as DATs were hitting the market
