I've attributed that frustrated feeling when I'm stymied on a project to a
lack of adrenalin. When I'm hustling to meet a deadline, the stress is
high, adrenalin flows, and time flies. Then when it's over, there's the
warm rush of endorphins rewarding a job well done. Ahhhhhh, technical
writing!

Or it could be too much/too little caffeine. Check your dosage.
