Surely it's more a case that entry-level IT staff in India get salaries
much closer to a normal Indian wage, rather than experienced staff
being "cared for" especially -- they're still paid a lot less than they
would be in the West. Such large salary discrepencies are to be
expected when a developing country is industrialising, but are not
really sustainable in the longer term.

Try getting a new graduate to work for five thousand dollars a year in
the US or Europe; they won't because they can get more than that
stacking shelves at Walmart. On the other hand experienced tech
writers aren't worth $200k, 'cos no-on in their right minds is gonna
pay that much as they don't need to.
