I may have a comparable need very soon. However, the sessions I would
be recording would have to be maintained for some time--so I am
thinking seriously of a Sony mini-disc system. They are cheap enough,
and the small discs are relatively long-lived and perfect for
semi-permanent archives.

Otherwise, one of the MP3 recorders would be fine. I am looking
forward to doing some experimentation with Dragon Naturally Speaking
in the newest iterations to see if a head start can be attained in
creating transcripts recorded on one of these small machines.
