Brian,
I highly recommend the articles on www.mvps.org, especially "Word's
numbering explained" http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Numbering/WordsNumberingExplained.htm. Since
reading that, I've had very few problems with Word numbering and none that I
wasn't able to solve quickly. The articles on creating templates helped a
lot, also.
