I do hate to ask this question. I have been researching it but would
also like first hand accounts, reactions, comments, or whatever info you
might have on this type of move.

My boss believes InDesign will answer our needs for database publishing
and so wants to move our FrameMaker books into InDesign, reasoning since
both programs are from Adobe, it should be an easy conversion. Talking
to our training book publishers here who use InDesign, it seems like we
will be able to have TOCs but not internal text cross-references come
over. If we want the cross-references we will have to code them. Not
sure whether or not the variables I have already coded will come over.
I believe we will have to buy a plug-in to have InDesign read in the
Frame files... the InDesign version I have only reads in Quark and
PageMaker files.

Anybody ever do this type of conversion? Anybody familiar with both
Frame and InDesign who has comments?

I am also posting this question to Framers so if you receive this
question twice I apologize.

Thanks in advance,

Rosie A. Wilcox
