It looks like a few people are trying to come up with an XML schema
for help development. It *is* an excellent idea, but it also appears
like they have a long way to go :) (Their web site is sparse with lots
of place holders...).

If you are developing Window-based help, it would be good to keep
your eye out for any information that Microsoft provides about their
MAML XML schema, which will be the basis for help in the Vista
OS. There's not a lot of information provided at this time, but in the
meantime, we can all start looking into improving our XML skills
(including me :)

XML certainly appears to be the "wave of the future" for help
development. Given that Microsoft is prevalent in the consumer
software market, I suspect their schema will become the "standard"
(on Windows OSs) regardless of what others propose (IMO, of
course :)
