A gr8 former member of our list, Lyndsey Amott, has a good book on her site: The PC Is Not a Typewriter. Check out: http://www.docsymmetry.com/books-for-technical-writers.html

I've been writing since I was a kid: poetry, short stories, then journalism and into training with customized documentation, technical writing and trade books available at your local bookstores. I was also a fiction editor for four years at an esteemed journal. I still edit books, as well as technical references including science and mathematical papers and there is NEVER two spaces after a period, unless 1) you're using Courier, or 2) you're using a Typewriter. I have a 20 year old programmer doing some writing for me and he uses two periods and I just had this conversation last night. But I'm the kinda gal that thinks the CMS is the lamest reference manual in the world.

Back to slurking the list....

Michele
