Personally, I never found that true. The biggest trick to working with
Doc-To-Help was working properly in Word. Once you understood styles and
templates, you were in good shape. ComponentOne has steadily improved
Doc-To-Help, and the current version (Doc-To-Help 2005) is certainly worth a
free evaluation. The version that is due for imminent release (2005v2)
includes an Express mode, which simplifies the GUI for users who do not need
to expose all the functionalities or properties.

Hi Christopher,

Never used Doc-to-Help. Then again, I have never used Help & Manual, but
the latter appears to be easier to set up and use, and that is what is
needed here. The developer who will take over the project is experienced
with MySQL and Access, but is a lightweight on how to use Word properly let
alone an online Help development program...and their on a tight schedule.
Several years ago, during one of those never ending tool-wars, Doc-to-Help
was described as powerful but had a steep learning curve. From your
experience, has that changed?
