I agree completely. In fact, I agree with everything John wrote.

I'll go one step more. Even when Word is the source and the deliverables are in Word, I STILL import them into FM, blows away all the style, comment, and review changes trash that gets accumulated, do my work, then convert back to Word using Mif2Go to put back into Word for delivery.

We complain about Word creating the plethora of styles and each time we combine Word files we get an accumulative effect of the style. If I'm using FM, I don't worry about it. My preference is to combine the Word documents into one document, S&R the styles, do the work, then break them back into separate Word documents if that is what's needed. It not only allows me to fix the styles and language, but also headers, footers, front matter, tables, and everything else.

But that's just me.
