Color is a potential gotcha, but it likely shouldn't matter. BMP and PNG are
RGB formats. JPEG and TIFF support CMYK. However, images taken from a
digital camera should be RGB so what you did was convert an RGB JPEG to an
RGB BMP, which should convert to RGB TIFF without issue.

Of course, if this image were saved as CMYK at some point, and conveted to
RGB when going to BMP, there might be some color shift.
