In most industries, safety symbols are established by national or international standards organizations. As a writer you can certainly make any recommendation you see fit to whatever person or group in your company is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, but you would be ill-advised to unilaterally delete or alter any symbols or icons related to safety, particularly if your employer or client has handed them to you and said "use these."
