No, I am still using monospace fonts. My observation is that it's a
"standard" in documentation. I use italics to signify anything that the
reader needs to replace with an actual value. I also say this explicitly
in the documentation. For example:

In the *path* text box, enter the path to the file, in the form
c:\/home_directory/\files
where
/home_directory/ is your application's home or installation directory
