Hi all, we use unstructured FrameMaker and I'm curious to find out how
easy it is to implement structured FrameMaker for a small documentation
department. How much time is involved in startup/training? Is it
beneficial for a small pubs department? Does anybody have a cost figure
associated with this?

Hey, David - our (very) small communications department is looking
hard at FrameMaker 7.2 Structured and other XML editing/authoring
tools right now due to a company-wide initiative to manage content in
an XML-based CMS, and also to deliver XML content to customers in the
near-future.

The tool choice is basically the least of your worries in this
situation. Document architecture and design, choice of XML
schema(ta)... these things are much more important to get right if
you're going with XML for authoring.

If you don't know why you might want to start using XML, trust me, you
probably don't want to.
