John, if I recall correctly from your past postings to the list,
you spent a great many years as a contract writer, a situation
in which a long history of performance as a contractor is a
good thing (especially in times when the field is flooded
with newbies, like the dotcom boom). How many direct-hire
jobs have you gotten by submitting this six-page resume to
advertised positions (as opposed to getting hired by companies
you originally contracted for or that you made contact with
through referrals)?

customize it for each interview).
