As promised,

The Update...

Written Offer was received, reviewed, signed and mailed. Phone calls
were made to The Firm and start dates were arranged. All is set.

I wrote my resignation letter yesterday and delivered it today with
the customary 2 weeks given. My boss was floored. He's a great guy,
who I trust and respect to the ends of the earth. He even had tears
in his eyes.

Now, I simply await the reactions from the "Uppers". My resignation
announcement is being held, for some reason...there's a lot of work to
be done before I leave, but that is no longer my concern. I have my
box here in my office and I'm now packing my essentials.

Laptop is properly backed up, wiped of critical info (multi-wiped...I
used to be a SysAdmin...I have, uh, software for this...) and ready to
go.

So, if the Uppers burst in hear with teargas and bully sticks, I'm
ready. Heheheh.

Oh yes.

I'll keep all informed. I honestly plan for the worst and expect the
best...but keep a (proverbial) knife in my boot, just in case.
