Taught myself enough HTML to function in a weekend with a book that included
a CD and templates.

I still think my first website attempt was probably my best == much content,
simple layout. These days I tend to get distracted by "this would be a good
spot for a Whatever (widget, plugin, etc.)" and content seems to suffer --
at least when there's also a delivery deadline.
