You could use a hanging indent.

You could have a Glossary paragraph style with a hanging indent of, say, 3 cm, and a GlossaryNext style for subsequent paragraphs with a fixed 3 cm indent.

Another option would be a 2-column borderless table with the terms in the left column and the definitions in the right.

Finally, in FrameMaker I would make the glossary term a run-in head. I'm not sure what the equivalent is in Word.
