Some of the certification push is coming from the increasing number of
ISO-registered businesses. The Standard requires that staff have proof of
training and competence for the work they do.

ASQ doesn't seem to have any problem (or resistance) to task-specific
certifications.

Any training falls under the umbrella of "professional development". I
expect an annual investment into my professional development every year --
from my company and from me. This includes spending my "free" time reading
professional journals and books.

If I run at top speed I just might be able to keep up with technology and
new discoveries in the fields of behavior and usability related to changing
technology. Almost.
