Thanks Richard. I tried a Google search and followed a number of links
before I posted here, and found a number of dead ends and false leads;
it was frustrating. Lucky for me, a kind listmate has offered to help.

This should be a one-time need, but I'll keep your reply just in case!
Appreciate the help.

Joyce

If no one on the list can help, you might consider these alternatives:

-- A freeware viewer for Word Pro files:

http://www.s2services.com/lwp-viewers.htm

>From there you can copy/paste or (if you have Acrobat) print to PDF and
export that to RTF.

--An online conversion service ($10/MB):

http://www.acii.com/online.htm

They also sell conversion software with broad capabilities, if this sort
of thing comes up often.

-- Convert to HTML and then open that with Word. This page lists some
ways of doing that (plus many other conversions):

HTH!
Richard
