Congratulations on writing your first winning proposal (the first of many, I

Many professional proposal writers and managers came from a technical
writing background; I'm one of them.

Check to see whether there's a chapter of the Association of Proposal
Management Professionals ( near you. Both the
international APMP group and many chapters have websites with good resources
for people who are interested in pursuing this as a career.

Here are two interesting things about proposal writing.

(1) Most people hate doing it; if you like it, and can convey your
enthusiasm for it, you can get hired pretty easily, in my experience.

(2) Most organizations don't put proposals together all that well; if you
are in a sales situation where the written proposal can really make a
difference (not all jobs that go out for bid are in this category!) then
*you* can really make a difference.

All best,
