RE: "face time" at the office

I became my own LLC so that I can avoid agencies.  I have been lazy about
trying to get on prefered vendors' lists, but I am set-up for it when I feel
like working again.  Companies also seem to want to avoid agencies these
days.  

I interviewed with one agency in my town that wanted to improve its image
with companies and the state by being a solutions provider rather than an
agency.  It changed its structure from employment agency to solutions
provider, so now they hire people directly and put them to work at different
client sites.  Previously, an employee would be a W-2 employee for the term
of the contract, now employees are hired by the solutions provider.  I don't
recall if employees receive a salary regardless of whether they are on
contract, but it sounds like they keep people working, although I would not
work with them.
