This is a cross-post with HATT; I hope that doesn't offend anyone.

We are using Flare to create compiled help and Web Help. We are just finishing a usability study related to Help, and the Search pane seems to annoy users - the "Location" and "ranking" items are not useful, plus the laundry list of results is overwhelming. I know there's an option in Flare to remove topics from Search, but is there any way to not show the Location and Ranking?
Also, we tried to work with metadata to add terms users would be looking for that are not in the topics themselves, but that doesn't seem to be possible. Does anyone have suggestions for ways to do this (add terms not in topics)? We could white text; I was looking for something less work-aroundy.
TIA
