The frustration and anger that you are feeling is coming across loudly. I
have been there many times. I have learned that when I start stewing like
this about a job, when the anxiety and anger begin to bleed into my
off-hours life, I need to decide what *I* need to do about it. Because the
company is very, very unlikely to change, at least in the near and
intermediate term. All I have ever taught myself by remaining in jobs way
past the point of simple unhappiness to endure unhappiness.

It sounds like the company is still bootstrapping its way to success. I bet
everyone there feels crazy. The situation you describe is basically the norm
with startups and is not their fault, really. You just need to decide if
this is the writing life for you. Usually, there are others available to
you. If you really are stuck there, or if you are feeling allegiance to the
company or your friends, then it becomes a matter of accepting that the
schedule will be out of control for possibly years, and that tech writing
will be bottom-most on everyone's priority list. You can be happy in that
situation, as long as your eyes are open to its realities.

My two hard-earned cents.
