Word actually has a pretty good graphics algorithm, it's
the cross-application transfer that is wonky (Frame has
similar issues with graphics that are created in its
drawing tool or embedded instead of being imported by
reference). If you have MS Visio, copy/paste the
graphics from Word to Visio (Visio and other MS office
applications use the same graphics algorithm as Word),
then save out of Visio as bmp or wmf. If you don't have
Visio, use Acrobat to pdf the Word page the graphic
is on at the highest resolution setting (1200dpi), then
export the image from the pdf in Acrobat as tiff.
