Sounds like you have some solid requirements for a new approach. I'd
ensure that the 1-page documentation supplements the books though. You
want complete documentation of process, hazards, etc. for management's
knowledge, but if workers need to rely on a 1-page how-to, then by all
means help them get their jobs done.
