It was nice to see a vat of would-be vitriol, seeming to rise to a boil,
then turn down into professional courtesy thanks to clear heads and
hearts. Good moves!

I think the list at times looks like a cockfighting contest, each poster
attempting to trump the evaluations, analyses and comments of the last in
an effort to be the most correct, erudite or whatever the poster considers
an important value to gain the respect of others.

It seems to me some of the list's most important values are respect,
expertise and education/learning. Personal attacks based on "I'm more
right than you" don't get anyone anywhere.
