Programming for Beginners and Database Design for Beginners. That way
you at least get a cursory look at the terms and technologies used by
developers, making it easier to communicate with them and giving you a
broad overview so you have a solid foundation of understanding to jump
from when you have to learn the technology specific to your company. It
can certainly help to look at the database schemas and layer diagrams in
technical specifications and understand them as you translate from
technical to everyday terms. Introductory Graphics Design of some sort
would be especially helpful too in case you're asked to design help
system styles and graphics.
