I have inherited a PPT 2007 presentation. When I remove a new slide, or
insert a new slide the slide numbering is not being automatically updated at
all. It remains stagnant. I have viewed the Slide Master and have requested
to insert a footer with a slide number, but still no change. I have many
edits to do for this PPT and I don't want to manually update the numbering,
or have to start a new presentation. Argh!

What do I need to be doing to get this autonumbering to work in PPT?
