Yes, I remember the correct time number -- TI6 - 1212. I discovered
awhile back that both this service and the weather forecast have been
discontinued.

It goes back before the digital age. The phone company (AT&T?) long ago
began providing a number you could call to learn the time of day. They
had someone, I seem to remember that it was a lady from Georgia, who had

a knack for recording all the right pieces that could be put together as

spliced recording tape.
