Today at a document review meeting, someone brought to my attention one
of those sticky points of grammar that I sometimes trip over. The
context is that there are two tables, which we'll call X and Y that can
be used to change a loan's interest rate. You use either one or the
other, but not both. The specific sentence in question is -

For a loan with an introductory rate, Table X or Y change the loan's
regular rate, leaving the introductory rate unchanged.

A reviewer thought it should be "changes." I had made it "change"
because it went with the two tables, but should it be "changes" because
I'm talking about "Table X or Y," rather than "Tables X and Y"?
