The topic (branching from the "Framemaker crashes" thread, I assume)
prompted me to think about "expected" crashes.

I don't use Frame much any more, but I use Flare a lot. Unfortunately,
they based it on .NET infrastructure. .NET spews out an unhandled
exception warning a few times per week for me (using Win XP Pro X64 on a
DELL T5400 with 4GB memory). About half the time, it's not immediately
fatal, so I'm offered the opportunity to "Continue". I usually take that
opportunity to save and exit, and maybe close everything else, too, and

Other times, I catch the .NET message out of the corner of my eye as
Flare disappears from my screen. Always seems to happen when I'm
moving quickly with the mouse and selection or drag'n'drop operations.

I've re-installed .NET a few times. Didn't seem to make a lot of
difference, so I don't much bother any more. Instead, I type/click Save
All almost as often as I type "the"...

Despite its much-touted speed and stability in the RC versions, I can
hardly wait (in the apprehensive/resigned sense) for the joys to be
unveiled by Windows 7 in real life (post release). Maybe a .NET flavor
that gracefully handles exceptions? :-)
