**I just got a request for a tech writer job from this company, with a
request to send them a bunch of information they don't need for a
preliminary inquiry, including a request for my complete social security
number! And also a request for the rest of the information that would be
enough to open any kind of credit card or other account in my name. Are they
Most people do know this, but just in case you don't: Never EVER send your
SS# in email! Email is not secure, and anyone with a packet sniffer can get
your number, and bingo, you are an identify theft victim.

Here's what they sent me (and I am avoiding these people like the plague,
because WTH are they thinking? And why do they want the SS to begin with?).

Word to the wise--put this one in the spam folder.
