CA is an "at will" state. All we need to do is write a letter informing
someone that their services are no longer required. If we want to make
them feel better, we can add that it's "due to current business
conditions." Anytime you hear that someone is leaving the company "to
pursue other opportunities," it usually means to pursue the opportunity
to not be fired.
