When the text is pasted into what ever you're pasting it into, what font is
used?

For example, it's consolas in the PDF. You paste it into Word and it's Times
Roman?

I have some ideas but this is the critical question to know if we should go
further down the track I'm thinking.

You know, I think this is a bug. Acrobat should not be substituting
hyphen (Unicode 2010) for hyphen-minus (ASCII 45) in code listings.

related to some unicode issue.  And I found that there are several sorts of
hyphens in the unicode characters supported by the Consolas font
(http://www.fileformat.info/info/unicode/font/consolas/list.htm).  But I'm
not sure yet how to fix things.

definitely something in the PDF distillation process that's causing the
issue.  And when I change just the hyphen character to the more usual
Courier font, the PDF is fine (meaning that one can copy/paste the hyphen
just fine).
