Some of you may remember a discussion on a proposed TC syllabus and the version proposed by Andrew Plato which included basics science, maths etc. Iâve just been looking at some old ISTC journals that theyâve now put on-line and one (1968) had a suggested course plan for a BSc in Communication Technology that I thought might raise a smileâ Doesnât seem too far away from what was suggested by Mr Plato (general gist!)

First Year
English, Technical Drawing, College Algebra, Intro to Business, General Graphic Arts. PE, Basic Military Science, Production Language, Communication, Technical Problems, Elements of Speech, Mass Communications

Second Year
Tech Illustration, General Physics, Psychology, Mathematical Analysis, Reporting, Basic Military Science, Electricity and Electronics, Advanced Reporting

Third Year
General Chemistry, Communication Law, Literature, Offset Lithography, Materials and Industrial Processes, Business Comms, Copyreading/editing, Principles of Social Anthropology, Tech Illustration, Digital Computer Programming

Fourth Year
Nomography, Tech Documentation, Business Report Writing, Principles of Advertising, Principles of Management, Tech Writing, Info Transfer, Intro to Semantics, Magazine and Industrial Journalism, Man and Machine, Public Speaking
