Well, until Nancy advises us otherwise, I'm going to go with Occam's
Razor -- and my childlike faith that a programmer that clueless would be
unemployed in today's economy. ;-)

Odds are great that it's a wizard. In fact, I'd offer to wager on it if
we could exchange anything other than electrons.
