Your experience - writing in Author-It, didn't drink the Kool Aid

Hi all,
I'm in search of hearing from writers who have moved to Author-ItÂnot because they were in love with Author-It and drank the Kool-Aid of enthusiasm for the tool, but more under duress because of corporate direction.Â
Our group of 12 writers and trainersÂis considering moving to Author-It as a CMS/modular composition environment.
Some of us need the modular/CMS aspects because of the products we are documenting, but some don't, and for them the current
environment is highly tuned and works fine (narrative versus modular writing, Frame to PDF).
So, if any other linear-narrative style writer has gone through such a transition, what was it like, and how do you like writing in Author-It, if I may ask?
