What IS the actual security problem that's being fixed, when the
initiating files and the target files are all on the user's
local hard disk, or CD?

I can see a potential problem if a viewed web page
(on the interweeb) is invoking files from elsewhere
to possibly do dirty deeds. But, if that's the case,
then it suggests a "fix" to allow modifying the
security "fix" to ignore locally generated calls to
locally stored resources. That would still leave the
protection in place for web-originated calls to badness.

Or am I missing the point?

I haven't been to the Techwr-l site in a while...
is there a survey showing how many of us provide
WebHelp as (at least one of) our documentation format(s)?
